Richmond Community Services Hosts Volunteer Open House Feb 12th

Now Recruiting Volunteers to Help Richmond Improve the Lives of Individuals with Disabilities

Mount Kisco, N.Y., February 4, 2011 If you or your business, school or group are thinking about starting the year by giving back to the community, you are invited to drop by for the Richmond Community Services Open House on Saturday, February 12 from 9:00 a.m. to noon at Richmond Headquarters, 272 North Bedford Road in Mount Kisco.

Those considering volunteering will learn about the many opportunities available at Richmond, from being a buddy or assisting with games, art projects, outings and music to fundraising and administration. They will meet the staff, enjoy a slide show and mingle with staff and current volunteers. Refreshments will be served.

Individuals and organizations get much back from volunteering at Richmond such as gaining new skills and meeting a diverse range of individuals with differing abilities. Benefits for volunteering at Richmond include free entrance to Funfest and a variety of social activities, interesting training opportunities, and participation in an annual volunteer recognition luncheon.

There are no minimum number of hours required.  Volunteers are accepted starting at age 14.  To sign up for the Open House or to explore additional ways to get involved, contact Stacy Rivera, Community Relations Specialist at (914) 471-4104 or email
