Volunteer Program The Richmond Volunteer Program is for any person interested in serving his/her community by working in either a clinical, operational or administrative capacity through one of Richmond's programs. Volunteers are asked to make a commitment of 50 hours over a period of three months, whether as a learning opportunity for students or merely as a way of giving back to one's community. Clinical assignments in our residential and community-based programs may include participation in our recreational program, agency-sponsored events and leisure and relaxation therapy. Volunteers also provide one-to-one attention to our program participants, such as reading a book, taking a person for a walk, or simply serving as a "big brother or big sister." A volunteer is selected on the basis of individual interest, skill, and experience. The individual will be expected to: complete an application form; have a minimum of two references to affirm his/her character and qualifications; and meet mandated health requirements. For more information about how you can make a difference by becoming
a Richmond volunteer, please call 914 -968-1900. |
